signs... 

a dictionary definition for a sign is "an object, quality, or event whose presence or occurrence indicates the probable presence or occurrence of something else". confusing. 

fortunately, from reading the bible one knows a sign as a message from God. some references say that signs from God are good. others suggest that isn't necessarily true--that we shouldn't be looking for "signs".

to me there's a fundamental difference between "looking for signs" and asking "was that a sign?".

I believe that God sends me signs. Sometimes the message is "you're on the right track". at other times it's the opposite. I find signs helpful in keeping me on the right track.
