2/23/2020 Ahmaud Arbery, a 25 year old black man, was stalked and murdered by three white men while jogging in a suburban neighborhood near Brunswick, GA. The perpetrators were convicted of murder and given sentences of life imprisonment. 5/25/2020 George Floyd died when Derek Chauvin, a veteran Minneapolis MN police officer, knelt on Floyd's neck for 9.5 minutes while he was being arrested on a $20 bill counterfeit charge. Chauvin was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison. 4/21/2021 Daunte Wright, a 20 year old black man, was fatally shot by veteran police officer Kimberly Potter during an attempted arrest in Brooklyn Center, MN. Potter claimed that she had mistaken her service weapon for her taser gun. Potter was convicted of manslaughter. Her sentence is pending. was justice served in these cases? yes and no (maybe).  I believe that it was in the Arbery and Floyd cases. I believe that it is questionable  in the Potter case (it depends on the sentence that she is given). I belie...

7 Reasons To Be Proud Of Being A Night Owl | HuffPost Life   I don't know about being smarter. I do know that being a night owl has it's advantages. it's quiet at night it's easier to think when it's quiet. it's easier to pray when it's quiet. quiet is good. I've always been a "morning person". my mornings just start earlier--in the dark--during the fourth quarter of my life. this may be a result of having to pee during the night--or even waking up from a nightmare.  whatever the case, what am I missing by napping during the day? TV? you must be kidding! phone calls? ditto. surfing the net? better w/o the noise and interruptions. one of the advantages of being an early bird is that I prepare the fresh fruit (washing, peeling, slicing, dicing) for our morning smoothies. there's an old expression: "don't knock it until you've tried it."  lol

this is what I believe: our life/journey is a gift from God. each person's life/journey is unique. our free will is a gift from God. the bible tells us that there will be a final judgment. all human beings sin. each person's final judgment will be unique. Jesus said that more is expected from those who have been given much. (luke 12:48)  Jesus/God is our Redeemer. Jesus tells us that we must love Jesus/God and our neighbor and be sorry for our sins to be saved. I believe in God. God has given me great gifts. I have willfully sinned against God and against men and women. I am sorry for my sins. I believe that Jesus is our Redeemer. How will Jesus/God judge me? I don't know. I do know that, while there are many self-proclaimed experts, there is only one true expert--God.

Come, Holy Ghost - YouTube at this time in my life when I feel myself physically and mentally fading, I also see clarity that I had as a child--pure and simple--I love God and God loves me. I hope that as I continue in this fourth quarter of my life, as my body and mind continue to fade, that this clarity of love becomes only clearer.

no.  to me belief in God is intellectual. observe. think. where did we come from? where did the universe come from? can something come from nothing? I observe that humans can't create something from nothing. not to mention something of the size, beauty and complexity of the human body and the observable universe. only a Supreme being could be responsible for creating the universe and all that's in it.  faith, on the other hand, is turning your whole life over to the providence of God.  I believe in God. my faith is weak.
